ASCENT is a fifth-year high school program that allows students to participate in concurrent enrollment the year after 12thgrade. Qualified students who have completed at least 9 credit hours of postsecondary coursework prior to completion of their 12th grade year may be eligible for the ASCENT Program.ASCENT expanded in 2022 to allow unlimited number of participants.

Students & Parents: Please check with your high school counselor for specific information regarding how your school district administersthe ASCENT program. ASCENT students typically participate in high school graduation after 12th grade. Complete the FAFSA to determine whether ASCENT is the best financial option for you. ASSET Students

TheFederal Student Aid Estimatoris a free tool that helps students quickly calculate the amount of financial aid they may be eligible to receive. Students will receive a nonbinding estimate of their Expected Family Contribution (EFC), along with estimated eligibility for Federal Pell Grants, work-study funds, and federal student loans.

The Online Campus here at Pikes Peak State College uses D2L (Desire2Learn) and there are two ways for you to access it; through the Portal or going straight to its web page.

Pikes Peak Workforce Center helps residents of El Paso and Teller Counties who are unemployed, underemployed, or employed by providing them with job training programs and career development resources.

Our clients range from entry-level to professional, including youth, adults, people returning to the workforce, and those with barriers to employment. We provide job search and training opportunities, including 20 different job seeker workshops at no cost.

In addition, we host the largest virtual and in-person job fairs in Southern Colorado as well as weekly hiring events.

  • This bill requires Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs) to provide financial assistance to Colorado resident students who, any time after reaching age 13, have been in foster care or noncertified kinship care (following adjudication as neglected/dependent). The IHEs must provide for the remaining balance of total cost of attendance in excess of all private, federal or state financial assistance received by the student.

  • The bill appropriates funds to cover 50% of what IHEs are required to provide to qualifying students under this bill.

  • Each college must designate one employee as a liaison to serve as a direct point of contact for qualifying and prospective students.
